Hi I'm new to animal cruelty protesting. I've always loved elephants their souls have always amazed me.. I've just watched a few videos on animal cruelty and I've watched a documentary that made me want to get involved and help make a change. There is a ringling show coming to the Bay Area in September and I'm wondering how to get involved, and do I make and bring my own sign? Just need a little info! THANKS ALOT

Good for you Monique! Here is what to do:

1. Choose the dates/times/locations you are available to protest from the list above.

2. Just show up. You don't need to bring your own sign, as the designated host brings enough for everyone. You are welcome to make your own sign if you want to though. (Keep it kid friendly.)

Optional: Register for the event via one of the Facebook links above. That will get you in on group discussions such as people looking to carpool. Parking is kind of expensive for some of those venues! I think I paid $30 for Sacramento and $20-25 for Oakland. There isn't safe street parking for either of those locations. Better to pay or carpool than have your windows busted out by thieves.

It's nice if you can bring a friend. More people the better. But going solo is totally cool! I've gone alone many times as do a lot of people. Main thing is to just go and be on time.

Thanks a lot for the info Jaya! I'm the San Francisco area, I don't have a Facebook page. I'll probably have to end up paying. I've spoken to a few friends about this, and while they feel bad and think it's wrong no one wants to come with. 😓 maybe I can get my hubby to come. But if not I'll totally be there and ready to help make a difference. Thanks again!

I'm passionate about wild elephant conservation. It's something that has overtaken my heart and soul. After a trip to Kenya, where I went to see wild elephants and meet some of my conservationist heroes, I returned to Northern California, asking, "What can I do to help?" So I began writing.

My intention for Sacred Elephants is to raise awareness about elephant conservation by touching your heart, enlightening your mind, and trumpeting a call out to your elephant-loving spirit.

I'm also looking for opportunities to work with other elephant philanthropists for events, travel/tourism, corporate social responsiblity ventures, and media productions. I also accept requests to review elephant books, DVD's, and other products.

Thank you for reading and helping to save our elephant friends!
